Lower quality can result in Redwood and Cedar lumber that does not have the strength, longevity, or the insect and decay-resistance that it once did. Naturewood Decking is a new Douglas Fir product that's been pressure-treated to last for years, unlike Redwood and Cedar. This product is very strong, easy to work with, and readily available. It's also attractive, and strikingly similar in color to Redwood and Cedar.
